Case Study: CS002

Meet CS002. This hand-tarnished bronze enclosure houses a point-to-point germanium boost that will add a velvety soft distortion to your signal as you push your preamp to its breaking point. The hand tarnished case is part of my studies into natural finishes on my enclosures. I feel that natural finishes help tell the story of analog gear harnessing natural phenomenon to color our sound.

This unit uses a NOS 2N229 NPN Germanium transistor, the highest quality NOS Film capacitors, and military-grade resistors to sculpt your tone into a midrange-punching powerhouse. I hardwire each and every component into a visually pleasing array that is as sturdy as it is beautiful.

CS002 is the second of the Case Study Series. This series is my avenue to share my prototypes and ideas with you before they are incorporated into my production models.
